The challenge was the site had been built as hardcoded HTML. They needed it to run on a more robust and flexible platform and we were charged with making it happen. And we did.
Migrating 160,000 unique pages into a nimble content-management platform, creating a clear, user-friendly category structure, and then redirecting over 250,000 URLs to maintain SEO value. We developed specialized scripts to pull in images, parse HTML pages and match images from the site.
Complex analytics architecture was developed to map patterns around smarter taxonomy, with Branded Crate SEO strategies to maximize value and build upon existing content.
Then we turned to monetization, integrating two custom platforms. One managing ad sales and unit rotation, another backend affiliate commissions from product and book sales.
